Chelmer Village Youth Club began life in 1986 at its present location on the Village Green, Chelmer Village, next to the village hall. The cabin itself was donated by Anglian Water.

We are open on Friday evenings from 19.30 untill 21.30 during school term time. All local children aged between 8 and 16 are welcome. We aim to give young people the opportunity to engage in activities which promote social education.

We recieve no funding from either the council or the government, and rely entirely on donations. We are a charitable organisation (Registration Number: 1047374), and we make no profit from our work, as all of our staff are volunteers who give up their spare time to keep the club running.

Our aims here at Chelmer Village Youth Club are to provide leisure and recreational facilities for young people in the Chelmer Village area of Chelmford to help to enhance their social education.

We strive to help our members to develop their mental, physical and spiritual capacities so that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society.

During club nights, a range of activities are provided for our members. Pool and table tennis are popular options, as is the gym area. Members can listen to music and purchase "pocket money" food and drink from the canteen.

We also arrange additional activities outside of club hours. These range from table tennis tournaments with other local youth clubs to day trips to places such as Woburn Safari Park and Stubbers activity centre.

If you are interested in joining the club, or are a prospective parent and would like more information, please contact our club leader Paul Spain on 01245 478679.
